Cooma Baptist Church
Safe Church Information
At Cooma Baptist Church we are committed to providing places, services and programs that promote
physical, emotional and spiritual health and safety and model the love of Christ to all whom we have
contact with; particularly children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Cooma Baptist Church has an established Safe Church Team and Safe Church Coordinator. These
roles support the above commitment of the Church by keeping Ministry Leaders, Volunteers and the
Church community up-to-date with information; legal obligations; policies and procedures as well as
providing a point of contact for matters of concern.
Cooma Baptist Church has endorsed the 10 Child Safe Standards recommended by the Royal
Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and subsequently endorsed by all
state and territory governments.
Please contact the Safe Church Coordinator at safe-church-coordinator@coomabaptist.org.au if you
require any additional information.
Volunteering opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Ministry Leader or Pastor to discuss
opportunities within Ministry Teams. In alignment with the Church’s Safe Church commitment
volunteers are requested to complete documentation and training modules. Ministry Leaders will be
able to assist and advise you on this.
